FARIFIELD USD #310 Respiratory Virus Guidance

 Updated Raspatory Virus Guidance Plans 4/8/24


Respiratory Virus Guidance (to include COVID, Flu and RSV Cases) :

CDC recommends that people:

  • Stay home and away from others until at least 24 hours after symptoms are getting better

  • AND after having no fever for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication

(Note that depending on the length of symptoms, this period could be shorter, the same, or longer than the previous guidance for COVID-19.)

CDC encourages added precaution for the following five days after time at home is over.

  • Taking more steps for cleaner air

  • Enhancing hand and cough hygiene practices

  • Wearing a well-fitting mask during times of symptoms

  • Keeping a distance from others; and/or

  • Getting tested for respiratory viruses to decease spread

Covid and Flu Testing available at School:

  • Free Covid and Flu testing is available to adults and children.

Parental permission is required for students under age 18.

  • At-home COVID testing kits are available for families to use at no cost.
